Over 200 Apples Served
Applauding Phenomenal Performance of Lawrence Educators

LTEF Apple Thank You
Apple DonationYou can donate an A.P.P.L.E. any time during the year!

Over 200 Lawrence Township Public School teachers have received apples from their students. And their teachers were thrilled! That's because these were very special apples - not your ordinary variety of fruit! Each of these apples represented a donation made to the local education foundation in honor of individual teachers.

Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF) rolled out the new idea in September 2006 as students were returning to school. The community was encouraged to

by making an A.P.P.L.E. donation. Teachers received specially inscribed "apples" and a card recognizing their extraordinary contributions to public education in Lawrence Township.

The LTEF Apples were a very popular holiday gift. For teachers it was a welcome deviation from the coffee mugs and post-it cubes, and for parents it was a way to thank a teacher while making a difference in local public education. Apple recipient Penny Starkey of Slackwood school says, "I was thrilled with the contribution to LTEF in my name as an A.P.P.L.E.! It is an honor to be so recognized, and for such a worthy cause. So many of the grants awarded by LTEF have an immediate and powerful impact on the children of Lawrence Township. The A.P.P.L.E. program is a fine way for the community to recognize our educators and benefit our students."
