The Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF) Kicked off its 15th anniversary celebration at Lawrence Community Day at Village Park on Sunday, October 7. The LTEF booth offered kids the chance to have their photos taken with a life-size cut-out of one of the teen stars of Disney's popluar High School Musical. HSM-themed merchandise was auctioned off and popcorn was sold in souvenir Wildcat megaphones.

The highlight of the day was a performance by Lawrence High's Red Scare band and the LHS cheerleaders leading a rousing rendition of "We're All in This Together." School mascots Hootie (LIS) and Lester (LES) joined in the fun!

The Education Foundation planned the kickoff event to involve the entire community. "Everyone should be part of this chance to celebrate what is excellent about our local schools. We know that the kids are really enthusiastic about High School Musical, so we think we'll have a lot of fun." says LTEF president Theresa Wrobel. The anniversary will culminate at a gala event in April. "LTEF Goes Hollywood" is planned for April 12, 2008 at ETS and volunteers are needed to help with event details.
