Teachers Honored at ETS for LTEF Partnership
Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF) was pleased to host Lawrence teachers at a May 9th event at The Chauncey Center at ETS. The event celebrated the partnership between the education foundation and the faculty and staff of the local public schools. That partnership has helped to bring over 270 programs into local classrooms since 1992. Teachers who submitted grant proposals during the past school year (70 of them!) were recognized at the event. LTEF also thanked the teachers and staff who helped to organize the Faculty-Staff Campaign that encourages school employees to contribute to the nonprofit foundation that supports their endeavors. ETS generously provided the venue and refreshments and Vice President Eleanor Horne was on hand to welcome the teachers and thank them for their efforts on behalf of Lawrence children. Her sentiments were echoed by Superintendent of Schools Phil Meara and Board of Education Vice President Bill Michaelson. LTEF President Theresa Wrobel spoke about how important educators are in the lives of children and Grant Review Chairman Ken Mills personally recognized the grant writers who were present. Music was provided by LIS teacher Melissa Clark and LHS student Kristen Westbrook. The Teacher Recognition Event is an annual affair and all Lawrence teachers and staff are invited to attend. |
