The Mid-Atlantic Consortium of Education Foundations (MACEF) recognized the Lawrence Township Education Foundation web site for excellence amongst its peers of approximately 1,000 education foundations on November 17, 2005. MACEF recognizes foundations, individuals and projects for outstanding levels of achievement. This recognition of excellence is intended to help every local education foundation reach a higher level of success.

MACEF describes the LTEF site as easy to navigate, providing important and current information, and offering a method for individual donors to make contributions directly to the foundation online.

According to LTEF Trustee and webmaster Kirk LeCompte, "We maintain a web site primarily to serve our future and past grant recipients and to keep the community informed about how our grants are serving local students. Our site also recognizes our sponsors, volunteers and donors and serves as a tool for fundraising and recruitment."

The LTEF web site was redesigned and relaunched in November 2004 by Mr. LeCompte, who had previously launched a site for the LTEF's Million Penny Campaign in 2002. He and his wife Cathy LeCompte are the principals of the Lawrence-based creative design firm Castle Haven.

"It's certainly an honor to be recognized for hitting the mark with regard to the LTEF web site," says Mr. LeCompte, "Of course, the real winners are our students. If the message is effective, then we should be able to strengthen the impact of future grants."

The Lawrence Township Education Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that works to foster educational excellence, creativity and achievement in the Lawrence Township Public Schools.
