Rider University Supports Education Foundation

Rider University LogoRider University President Dr. Mordechai Rozanski recently met with Lawrence Township Education Foundation Trustees Joe Summers and Betsy Kreger to demonstrate the University's support of LTEF's mission.

During the meeting, President Rozanski provided a generous donation from the University that will help the LTEF further its mission, providing extraordinary learning opportunities for Lawrence Township's public school children. Over the years, the LTEF and Rider have worked together on the Freshman Agenda, where incoming Lawrence freshmen spend a two day retreat on the Rider campus in preparation for high school, and on the LTEF-funded Centennial Lakes project, whereby Lawrence Middle School science students study the impact of environmental conditions on the lake's health.

The initial meeting of LTEF representatives with President Rozanski was viewed by all parties as a productive beginning of a relationship whose goals include enhancing learning opportunities for students at all levels. As LTEF Trustee Summers notes, "President Rozanski's reaching out to the LTEF, both through his personal observations and through the generosity of his university's contribution, lays the groundwork for many future mutually beneficial activities."

The Lawrence Township Education Foundation has been in existence for over ten years and has contributed over a million dollars to the Lawrence public schools. These funds have supported more than 200 programs and projects, among them a Cisco Networking Academy at the high school, participation in the Brearley House archeological dig, and deep support for early literacy programs.
