The Lawrenceville School Invests in Public Education

The Lawrenceville School Donation
LTEF President Joseph Summers accepts a $65,000 donation from Liz Duffy, Headmaster of The Lawrenceville School. The two organizations have partnered since 1996 to enhance public education in Lawrence Township.

The Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF) received its annual donation from The Lawrenceville School this month in the amount of $65,000. The very generous donation is an indication of the private school's commitment to public education in Lawrence Township. The LTEF uses the funds, along with contributions from corporations and private individuals, to fund programs proposed by teachers in competitive grant cycles.

The Lawrenceville School, headed up by new Headmaster Liz Duffy, has contributed funds to the education foundation since 1996. In total, they have given $460,000 to the LTEF to distribute to the seven Lawrence public schools. In addition to financial support, The Lawrenceville School provides many in-kind services to the LTEF, including office space, copying services and hosting special events. Headmaster Liz Duffy serves on the LTEF board as an ex officio member and faculty member Ken Mills is an active board member who currently heads the LTEF Grant Review Committee.

The LTEF also receives financial support and in-kind services from Educational Testing Service, The Mercadien Group, Stark & Stark, and Barton & Cooney. Individuals support the non-profit by making tax-deductible donations through the Friends of the Foundation campaign. Credit card donations are accepted on-line at www.ltefnj.org and many companies match contributions by employees. LTEF can also be designated to receive United Way funds.

The Lawrence Township Education Foundation is a not-for-profit volunteer organization that fosters educational excellence, creativity and achievement in the Lawrence Township Public Schools. For more information or to contribute, visit the LTEF web site at www.LTEFNJ.ORG or email info@ltefnj.org.
