Grant Cycles for 2011-2012

• LTEF calls for proposals from teachers in two competitive cycles. The deadlines for proposals are in October and March.

• Proposals submitted in these cycles may request funding for materials, equipment, programs, and professional development that will enhance classroom instruction.

• Funds may be requested in amounts up to $10,000.

• Requests for more than $10,000 should be submitted by the school district leadership team in a January cycle that is intended for programs that address systemic change and/or district initiatives to sustain excellence in the schools.

• The grant application, as well as funding priorities and restriction, will remain unchanged. Teacher-generated grants will still require approval by the building principal and submission by the principal via email to ltefgrants@ltps.org.

Revised Grant Cycles

Why the Change?

The education foundation implemented a revised schedule in 2009-10, in an effort to address the needs of the changing school environment while continuing to empower individuals within the school community to impact classroom instruction. Teacher-generated grants no longer compete with district-wide initiatives for funding in the fall and spring cycles. The foundation now makes its contribution to larger school initiatives outside of the teacher grant cycles.
